Before I headed off on a late summer break, my hopes were high that a deal could be struck that would see Anthony Joshua fight Wladimir Klitschko, in Manchester, on 10th December.

As I flew out of the UK, the consensus of opinion was that the fight was struggling to be made with the WBO and WBA not being that quick to put their belts on the line.

However, it seems that the fight was never going to happen once Wladimir Klitschko picked up an injury in training.

Although it?s only described as a minor injury it is enough to keep the Ukrainian out of the ring for the remainder of 2016.

But all hope Is not lost of the dup coming face-to-face in the ring with the Matchroom promoter, Eddie Hearn remarking about the bout,

‘Let’s get this over the line for March or April.’

Now that?s a pretty damn good idea!
