With there still being no decision on whether the WBA will sanction the heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko, a familiar face has stepped forward and offered to fight Joshua on 10th December.

The familiar face in question is the Liverpool heavyweight David Price.

Price is of the opinion that not only does he deserve a shot at Joshua?s IBF version of the heavyweight title but also that he?d snatch it from the grasp of the Watford fighter.

Talking to the BBC about the possibility of fighting Joshua, Price has remarked,

‘I’d be going in there ready to go to war.

‘I know in my head I can knock out Joshua because I’ve done it before.’

Expanding on the last few words of that last line, Price further added,

‘I put him down and he tried to get up but he was wobbling and he had to get helped out of the ring.

‘I’ve kept it to myself for years because I felt bad for doing it and I wanted to protect the lad from people shouting him out because he got knocked out in a gym with 18oz gloves.

‘People think Anthony Joshua is this colossus of a man with a great physique but I am convinced it can go wrong for him in a fight with me.’

Price, when you look at his record, does have a claim for a fight with Joshua, his record of 21 fights with 18 wins all coming by knockout, stands him in good stead, even more so when the 3 defeats he has suffered contain 2 that were questionable, or as Price puts it,

‘I understand why a lot of people will write me off.

‘The only thing I’ve done to not deserve this shot is to lose to two drug cheats and I’ve worked hard to recover my career so I think I do deserve it.’

If the Klitschko fight doesn?t come off, do you believe a fight against Price is a viable option?
