At the SSE Arena, in Belfast, one of the fights of the night saw Paul Hyland Jnr and Stephen Ormond go head-to-head in a lightweight fight.

Hyland, from Belfast, took the decision over Ormond, from Dublin, in a fight that could have been scored to either fighter.

As it turns out the three judges thought along similar lines and the fight was given to Hyland Jnr by a split decision, with the score-cards reading,

? 117 ? 110 (in favour of Hyland)
? 115 ? 112 (in favour or Ormond)
? 114 ? 113 (in favour of Hyland)

After the excellent fight where many thought Ormond out-worked a tiring Hyland, both fighters had a few words for the media, with the victor, Hyland, remarking,

‘I couldn’t have done twelve rounds with a tougher guy.

‘He was always in your face.’

With Ormond remaking,

‘I thought I clearly won the fight, but these things happen.’

To me, this fight screams out for a re-match, how about you?
