According to news received from a reliable source, Hughie Fury just managed to beat the deadline for putting his signature to the contract for his world title fight against Joseph Parker.
Hughie, the #2 WBO ranked heavyweight, had until midnight last night to sign the deal, according to the WBO president Paco Vacarcel. If the deadline had slipped by without the deal being signed Parker would have been free to make a voluntary defence.
But the social network sprung to life yesterday with Peter Fury announcing,

Although the date of the fight is confirmed as April 1st, the venue has not been although it is expected the fight between the champion Parker, who has a record that reads 22-0 with 18 wins coming by knockout and the challenger Fury, who has a record that reads 20-0 with 10 wins coming by way of stoppage, will be staged in Auckland.
