Last night (Friday), in Dundalk Ireland, Hughie Fury continues his development with a fifth round stoppage of his opponent.

Fighting Ivica Perkovic, the 18 year old cousin of Tyson Fury produced a display that saw him take his record to 7 wins from 7 contests, with 5 by knockout.

Having previously declared that his ambition is to beat the record held by Mike Tyson of being the youngest heavyweight champion the world has seen, Hughie showed that he does perhaps possess something special by stopping Perkovic when several more experienced contenders on the world stage had failed.

Having only turned professional in March, his trainer, Peter Fury, is inferring that Hughie?s career will continue at the same pace and that the class of opponent he faces will soon be stepped up to another level.

Will Hughie become a force in the heavyweight division?

I guess we?ll find out in the next eighteen months or so.
