On the undercard of the Lenny Daws v Ruben Nieto European super-lightweight title belt, Hughie Fury was back in action.
Hughie, who was due to fight on the undercard of his cousin?s glorious night in Dusseldorf last weekend but for whom a suitable opponent couldn?t be found, was matched against Larry Olubamiwo.
Cheered on by Tyson, Hughie made short work of an opponent who clearly wasn?t in the same class as he was.
The end came as early as the first round with Hughie catching his opponent with a body-shot, something that appeared to be on the cards from the first bell with Olubamiwo having a tendency to turn his body away from the advancing Hughie leaving it open to a punch on the side.
Caught cleanly by one such punch Olubamiwo fell to the canvas and the referee completed the count out.
Congratulated by cousin Tyson, Hughie takes his record to 18-0.
However, the consensus of opinion is that Mick Hennessey now needs to start matching the 21-year-old against higher quality opponents to further test a fighter that could emulate, one day, his cousin.
