After suffering a crushing one-sided defeat in the light-heavyweight unification fight against Sergey Kovalev, it would seem that Bernard Hopkins isn?t quite prepared to hang up his gloves.

The boxer, who reaches the grand old age of 50 in January, wants one last fight before those famous gloves are hung up.

Talking about his decision, Hopkins has remarked,

‘If this is the last time I’m going into the ring, I will not cheat myself.?

‘It will not be a freak show. I will never short-change my dignity.’

‘Who will I fight? I don’t know. But it will be somebody I will be an underdog against because I want to be the underdog.’

It remains to be seen who Hopkins goes up against it but it would seem the veteran fighter has lost none of his zest for the game and is already back in training after his loss to Kovalev with Hopkins further adding,

‘Physically, if you see me, you’d think I didn’t have a fight (on Saturday).?

‘But inside, trust me, my arms and the back of my head and the top of my head, oh yeah, I was in a fight.?

‘I’ve been in the hot tub for the last 48 hours.’

Bernard Hopkins, a legend and one of the few remaining true warriors in the game.
