On the under-card of the top of the bill contest between Frankie Gavin and Leonard Bundu was an intriguing heavyweight contest.

The contest pitted the unbeaten #8 WBC contender Lucas Browne (21-0 with 18 by way of knockout) against the unbeaten Andriy Rudenko (24-1 with 16 by way of knockout).

The bout was for the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title but, unfortunately, it didn?t quite live up to expectations.

Browne kept his world title ambitions on track with a unanimous 12 round decision with the scores being announced as:-

? 116-112
? 117-112
? 115-113

And all in favour of Browne.

However, if Browne is to be a genuine world title he needs to up his game. For much of the fight he looked slow, ponderous and tired and didn?t for me, do enough to impress.
