A lot has been written since it was announced that Gennady Golovkin would be coming to London to fight Kell Brook.

Many suspected that it?d be the chance to take on Chris Eubank Jnr that would tempt the WBC, IBF and WBA Super middleweight title holder to London.

But that fight, for whatever reasons, fell by the wayside and Kell Brook jumped at the opportunity to jump two weight divisions to take the biggest fight of his life.

The bout is scheduled for 10th September, at the London Arena, today a press conference was held in London with both parties present.

In summing up the bout, which will be broadcast as a pay-per-view fight by Sky Sports, Eddie Hearn had this to say,

‘Every now and again you make a fight that makes the hairs on your arms stand up, this is it. We?ve got a very special fight.

‘Every time I watch Kell Brook, I think this boy is very, very special. I feel the same about Gennady Golovkin. Sometimes two pound for pound special fighters meet. That?s what we’ve got.

‘To be a great fighter you have to do great things. That is what Kell Brook is doing.’

There?s no denying that Brook has been asking for a big fight, at one stage it looked as if he was concentrating solely on trying to lure Amir Khan back to the UK for a grudge fight, but Khan had other plans.

But, as Khan found out against Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez moving up two weights might seem like a good idea but the feasibility of winning is drastically reduced having not operated at that level before.

Kell Brook may be destined for great things but having watched the press conference I?m of the opinion that choosing to fight Gennady Golovkin is a move that will put a major road-block on that path to greatness!
