There?s no doubt that Kell Brook is a worthy holder of the IBF welterweight bout after the job he done on Shawn Porter in winning the belt.

But the big question of where his career goes as he seeks greatness in the division is one huge question.

Many would like to see Brook take on Amir Khan but I?m of the opinion that?s a bout for 2016.

Today news has broken that Eddie Hearn has ambitions of putting on a big summer show that would see Brook take on the legend that is Juan Manual Marquez with Hearn remarking,

?We are in talks. It?s a fight that I would love to make ? not just as a promoter but as a huge boxing fan,?

?Juan Manuel Marquez is one of my favourite fighters of all time. I believe a Marquez-Brook fight at Bramall Lane is a massive fight this summer. We?ve had a few chats with their camp and things are moving along in the right direction, but Marquez I believe is the frontrunner right now.?

Which may all be well but we shouldn?t forget that Marquez is now 42 years of age and has been inactive since injuring his knee in his last fight against Mike Alvarado. Perhaps it should also be pointed out that Marquez originally operated at featherweight, a fair way down the scales.

If the fight is made, is it one the British public would flock to?

I?m not so sure they would!
