Although Amir Khan still harbours one great ambition, to take on Floyd Mayweather Junior and beat the fighter rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, Eddie Hearn is of the opinion it will not happen.
Hearn, clearly trying to force Amir towards an all-British welterweight clash with Kell Brook, has remarked to the media,
?I said around a year ago I didn?t think Floyd would fight Amir Khan in May. He didn?t. I also said he wouldn?t fight Amir in September. He didn?t. I?m now saying he won?t fight Amir next May.?
?Now, I understand that everyone wants that fight but there also comes a time when you have to stop hanging around and prostituting yourself for a shot.?
?When you have an opportunity to give the British public what they want in a huge all-British clash with Kell Brook for the world title.?
Will Khan get a bout with Mayweather as he so desires or will he have to settle for an al-domestic tear-up with Brook?
My view is that Khan will have to force the issue to fight Mayweather by notching up a notable victory over a ranked opponent, before the year is out.
How about you?
