On Saturday 29th April one of the biggest events in British sporting history will take place.

Wembley Stadium, as we?ve reported earlier, will stage the heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitsckho, on the line will be Joshua?s IBF heavyweight title.

When the show was announced the promoter, Eddie Hearn, hoped that the capacity for the event would be raised from the 80,000 that saw Carl Froch fight George Groves for the second time.

Hearn was hoping that permission would be given for 90,000 to pack into the stadium, thereby matching the attendance for a fight in this country when, back in 1939, 90,000 crammed into the White City Stadium to see Len Harvey take on Jock McAvoy.

Well Hearn has gotten his wish.

To enable the attendance to be increased to 90,000 the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has done a deal between Network Rail and Transport for London whereby more services will be laid on to cope with the huge influx of fight fans.

Talking about seeing his dream realised, Eddie Hearn is quoted as having remarked,

‘Sadiq urged me to bring the biggest fights to the city and I’m delighted to have the biggest fight in British boxing history at Wembley.?

This fight just gets bigger and bigger by the day.
