The recent announcement that the world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, is medically unfit to fight, has seen the boxing world shocked.

With it being suggested that Tyson Fury has mental health issues, the leading British promoter Eddie Hearn is being quoted as having remarked that he believes Tyson Fury might never fight again.

Although Team Fury are insistent that their man will not be stripped of his titles, Hearn believes otherwise with the Matchroom promoter remarking,

‘Fury will be stripped of his titles and, after a legal battle, he’ll say: ‘No more, I’m done’.

‘It’s going to be really messy and it might take a year to resolve. I know there are sensitivities around mental health issues but this is a business.

‘The governing bodies have had enough. The world heavyweight title is a huge part of their business and they’ve not made any money from it for a year.’

And that word, money, is what this sport of ours often boils down to.
