Having gone up to cruiserweight and then dropped back to light-heavyweight as he decided at what weight to campaign, it seems that the Welsh fighter, Nathan Cleverly is moving closer to a world title fight.

Cleverly, who was the former WBO light-heavyweight title holder, is being directed towards a bout with the WBO light-heavyweight world title holder Juergen Braehmer.

Last time out, Cleverly lost a points decision when he took on the WBC title holder Andrzej Fonfara. But his stock rose with his attempt at beating the champion being recognised as a gallant effort.

Looking to the future, Eddie Hearn is looking at making the fight with Braehmer and has remarked about the possibility,

‘I think I can get Nathan Cleverly the fight with Juergen Braehmer, he wants a rematch with Fonfara, but Fonfara looks like he is fighting Adonis Stevenson.

‘So I have said to Kalle [Sauerland, Braehmer’s promoter], can we set the Braehmer fight for September?

‘We will get Nathan out in April and then set the title fight for September.’

If Hearn can make the fight, it will, quite probably be Cleverly?s last chance at a world title, failure could see his career terminated.
