Are the options diminishing?
With Carl Froch having given a broad hint that he?ll choose to retire if his promotional team cannot secure a fight in Las Vegas against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, or a similar creditable opponent, it appears progress in securing the fight is slow.
We?re told that Eddie Hearn and his team are admitting that negotiations are underway for a fight against Chavez Jr on 24th January in Las Vegas, with Hearn remarking,
?I?m continuing talks with Bob Arum over a fight between Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr on January 24 in Las Vegas.?
?It?s going slowly.?
However, whilst Froch has doubts about fighting on, Hearn also admitted that other opponents are being considered for the 37 year-old Nottingham fighter, with Hearn further adding,
?We still have the same options of Chavez, James DeGale and Mikkel Kessler.?
Unfortunately I doubt whether Kessler and DeGale would be Las Vegas fights, which Froch has implied is a necessity!
