It appears that the persuasive tongue of Eddie Hearn has seen the Matchroom promoter add another top-notch fighter to his stable.
It was announced, over the weekend, Hearn had added the unbeaten WBA heavyweight champion Luis ?King Kong? Ortiz to his stable of boxers.
Ortiz, who has a record that reads 25-0 and is another boxer from Cuba who had an amazing amateur record, had previously been with Golden Boy Promotions in the US.
The signing of Ortiz, who is 37years-of-age, adds to a heavyweight stable that already includes the IBF champion Anthony Joshua and the British champion Dillian Whyte.
With Joshua and Whyte having already met in the ring, is there any chance that Hearn will match Joshua with Ortiz?
My suspicion is that it will not happen and that Joshua will pursue one of the belts Tyson Fury looks set to relinquish.
But, then again, I could be wrong!
