With Kell Brook now having gone up a league since winning the IBF world welterweight title, the class of opponent he?s set to face will be top-notch.

Eddie Hearn has already suggested that Brook?s first defence will be in his home town of Sheffield but hasn?t, as of yet, mentioned any possible opponents.

Naturally the big-guns of the division are being linked with a fight against Brook, fighters such as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Amir Khan or even Shawn Porter in a re-match, but perhaps the one fighter desperate to get in the ring with Brook is Keith ?One Time? Thurman

Thurman, a fearsome fighter who has won all 23 of his fights with 21 coming by way of knockout, had been trying to tempt the Porter camp into defending the IBF belt before Brook ripped it from Porter?s grasp.

Now it seems that the fighter has targeted Brook and has already spoken about having no qualms about travelling to the UK to take the newly crowned champion on.

Could Thurman be Brook?s opponent for his first defence or will the Match room camp select somebody not quite as dangerous and willing to risk his undefeated record to test himself against the best around.
