Saturday night saw, at the Liverpool Echo Arena, Tony Bellew engage in some antics that were more appropriate for the world of wrestling than boxing.
Leaning over the top rope and goading David Haye, before trying to exit the ring and have a showdown with the former heavyweight champion was akin to Triple H trying to get at the Undertaker, or some other wrestlers who Sky Sports covet.
Bellew, obviously has let Haye get under his skin and wants to execute his revenge in the ring.
But, although being goaded, Haye simply kept smiling and didn?t seek to escape the arena.
With the dust having settled slightly, but with rumours that Eddie Hearn has the O2 Arena put on hold for a February date next year, Haye has had something to say about the challenge laid down by Belllew.
Haye, who is hoping to get back into world title contention, hasn?t fought as a cruiserweight, Bellew?s division for eight years. It appears Haye has no intention of getting back down to that weight and has re-iterated,
?I?m not going to go back down to a less-glamorous division than the one I?m in now for a loud-mouthed guy like him.?
Which is exactly what we were suggesting yesterday, the day after all this kerfuffle took place.
Haye Will Only Fight Bellew at Heavyweight
