As Joshua prepares to move to the next level.

Although, following his seventh round knockout of Dillan Whyte; Anthony Joshua suggested he?d be willing to give the Brixton fighter a re-match, here at Vital Boxing we?d be very surprised if that fight were to happen in the immediate future.

Instead, the growing consensus of opinion is that Joshua will be matched with Dereck Chisora.

Thirty-one year-old Chisora is on the comeback trail and has racked up three wins on the trot. He also has the experience of fighting both Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury, although he lost both fights.

When pressed on whether Chisora could be a viable next opponent, following his demolition of Whyte, Joshua answered,

‘Why not?

‘I need to be fighting people who are hungry and good enough but who I still have a good capability of beating.’

It?s also a fight that the former world heavyweight champion David Haye thinks would be a good move with the fighter, who is also on the comeback trail with a fight against Mark de Mori in January, remarking,

‘I think Chisora’s a good opponent next for Anthony?

Before adding,

?And then me and him in a big fight in the summer.

‘I definitely have the superior skill and speed to beat Anthony.

‘It just down to Eddie Hearn and Joshua’s people if they are ready for that challenge.’

It?s definitely something to consider but let?s all see how Haye gets on in what is a tricky comeback fight.

Do you believe that is the path Joshua should take, Chisora, Haye and then a world title fight?

Your thoughts would be most welcome.
