News has broken today that the former WBA world heavyweight champion, David Haye, has split from his trainer Shane McGuigan.

Haye, who recently loss a non-title fight against Tony Bellew, is currently in a rehabilitation period after surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon picked up during the Bellew fight.

Talking about the split from McGuigan, Haye has remarked to the media,

‘Shane and I have come to the mutual decision that, when I am ready for full training camp, we will no longer be working with each other.?

However, Haye did stress that the duo will remain good friends but they didn?t feel like they were right for each other ? sounds like a marriage split statement to me

Continuing though, it seems that Haye has no intention of hanging up his gloves, using the social network site, Facebook, to remark to his fans,

‘I am pleased to confirm rehabilitation is going well and I will make a complete recovery.

‘Whilst I am not quite in a position to be announcing my next opponent, my passion for the sport remains unwavered and desire to regain my heavyweight title is stronger than ever.’

Has Haye got anything left to give the sport or has he had his time at the top?
