It?s all about the belt, not the man!
It seems that reading, or hearing the newly crowned heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, claim he?d rather vacate a version of the title than fight David Haye, it hasn?t taken the former two-weight world champion long to respond.
Haye, who is on the comeback trail and set to fight on 16th January 2016, has remarked, according to the media,
‘It says a lot about a new champion that he’s saying he won’t fight the man who would generate the most amount of interest and money, and would be the biggest possible fight on the planet for him.
‘Fair enough, I will work my way up the rankings. I’ve done it before at cruiserweight. [Fury] has to realise I’m not after him, I’m after what he has – the belts. He knows that my style would absolutely murder his style.’
I?m not sure about that last line, my reckoning is that Tyson has, and never will, forgive Haye for pulling out of those two fights that left his career stagnating and bringing in no money.
