Subjected to a verbal assault from Tony Bellew last night, after the WBC cruiserweight title holder had knocked out BJ Flores, David Haye was always going to have a reply for the Liverpudlian fighter.
Haye, who is edging back into contention for another attempt at a heavyweight world title, kept his cool as Bellew hurled insult after insult at him and demanded they meet in the ring next.
Talking about Bellew, Haye is quoted in the media today as having remarked,
?I could beat him with one hand. Bellew has dynamite in his fists but would that really work on me? I don?t think so.
?Every time he knocked him down (Flores) he kept walking over to me and saying, ?You?re next?. But he makes a lot of noise.?
Personally I?d be amazed if the fight was to take place but then again I never thought that Amir Khan and Kell Brook would jump two weights to take on Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin!
