At last a level-playing field is being established.

Although, for many, there is a great sense of disappointment that the WBC heavyweight title fight between Deontay Wilder and Alexander Povetkin has been called off, it has been called off for all the right reasons.

At a time when many sports, even tennis, are coming under scrutiny as to just how far drugs have corrupted things, the WBC are to be applauded for halting the circus when one of its performers has tested positive.

David Haye, eagerly awaiting his second fight since he took the decision to make a comeback, has had his say on the drugs bust, remarking to the media,

?I do regular tests with the UK Anti-Doping ? they came the other day unannounced.

?So it was good to hear Povetkin and Wilder were doing similar, in the past that might not happen.

?It?s nice to see other countries chipping in ? but it was crazy a fighter as accomplished as Povetkin was caught using the same stuff as Maria Sharapova.?

It was David but he?s now gotten what he deserves and we wait to see what punishment the WBC hand out to Povetkin.
