In Cardiff last night, Lee Haskins produced a convincing performance to defend his IBF world bantamweight title.

Haskins who won the title by default when, back in November, the former champion Randy Caballero failed to make the weight for his defence against the 32-year-old from Bristol, was taking on the Mexican fighter Ivan Morales.

Morales, who comes from a boxing family with some pedigree with his brother being the legend that is Erik Moralles, was emphatically out-boxed with Haskins taking the verdict on the scorecards of all three judges, who scored the fight,

? 118 ? 110
? 119 ? 108
? 118 ? 110

Speaking about his clear win, Haskins had this to say,

‘It’s absolutely amazing. I am flying at the moment.’

And as for his next fight, it would appear that Haskins has his sights set on a former IBF champion, in all-British showdown, Stuart Hall, with the current champion remarking,

‘All I was thinking during the training for this fight was about Stuart Hall?

If the match can be made it would be a great fight, let?s get it on.
