Last Saturday at the O2 Arena, on the under-card of the Gennady Golovkin v Kell Brook fight; Stuart Hall lost a world title challenge against Lee Haskins.
Haskins retained his IBF bantamweight title with a points win over the boxer from Darlington, however many observers reckoned that 36-year-old Hall got a bit of a raw decision when it came to the verdict.
At 36-years-of-age Hall knows that getting another world title chance might not be viable and following the disappointing loss to his bitter rival Haskins, is contemplating retirement.
Speaking to the local media, Hall is quoted as having remarked about his situation,
‘Retirement has crossed my mind.
‘I’m just going to see what happens and I don’t think I can leave on this note.’
And on the decision last Saturday night, Hall added,
‘I should be world champion now, but we’ll see what happens and if we can get a rematch that will be great.
‘If there are no big fights, then I don’t think I will be continuing.’
A final decision is expected from Hall, about his boxing future, when he returns from a family holiday.
