As a youngster I remember sitting and watching on enthralled as Marvin Hagler, a visitor to our shores, dismantled Alan Minter to take the world title back to the US.

I recall watching as the British boxing public disgraced themselves by unleashing a barrage of missiles in the general direction of the ring.

But from that moment on, despite Minter?s defeat, I was a fan of Marvellous Marvin Hagler.

He truly was a ring warrior and fully deserves his legend status.

Therefore, when Marvin speaks I listen and ahead of the hugely awaited clash between Mayweather and Pacquiao I reckon Hagler has got it right when he comments about Mayweather Junior and his flamboyant, flash, money waving lifestyle

?It?s not class and really no way for a champion to act.

?If you have the skills you don?t need to impress everybody by being a show-off.

?When you get beat the public leaves you. When you are a true champion they stick with you.

?We really haven?t seen too much of that side of him ? giving something back. Most true champions are like that, they are not selfish.?

At 60-years of age, Hagler remains a wise old man, we await Floyds response, indeed if there is one.
