This Saturday, George Groves and Chris Eubank Jnr go head-to-head at the Manchester Arena.

At stake, for the winner, is a place in the World Boxing Super Series final.

However, you get the impression that there is more to this fight than that, it is a fight that sees two men desperate to remain at the top of the sport looking to get one over the over in all-British, long-awaited, fight.

Today, a press conference was held at which both fighters had a few words to say.

Eubank Jnr, never short of a word or two, just like his father, had this to say,

‘On Saturday, I will be on top of George from round one, punishing him for having the arrogance for stepping into the ring with me.

‘You just don’t want this more than me George.

‘He knows how to lose, he has been definitively beaten. His chin has an off button, mine doesn’t. George will take the loss in his stride, maybe a retirement afterwards.’

Prompting Groves to hit back with,

‘I don’t think it has anything to do with who wants it more. I have been through some terrible times to be where I am now. I have had to pick myself up from low points and I have desire in abundance.’

With the press-conference not descending into the farce we?ve seen some do, Groves didn?t seem fazed by the confident Eubank Jnr, but did keep his answers short and sweet.

Groves will enter the ring around a stone heavier, with Eubank Jnr having operated at a lower weight for the majority of his career, could that be a deciding fixture in this fight?

Continuing though, the duo exchanged verbal insults, with Groves chiding Eubank Jnr with,

‘In terms of levels, skill, I am levels above you Chris.?

Prompting Eubank Jnr to retort with,

‘I still think you’re a novice.

‘I do not see anything in your style which makes you an expert in the game. You have a belt but the man you beat I do not rate at all.’

Before adding,

‘This is the biggest fight of my career and I have prepared accordingly. He is an experienced, seasoned world champion. He has everything to lose, which makes him dangerous. Even so, he’s not dangerous enough to beat me.’

But who do you see emerging victorious on Saturday night, Groves or Eubank Jnr?
