Looking to get a fourth world title shot George Groves was fighting on the under-card of the Joshua v Martin bill last night.
Now being trained by Shane McGuigan, Groves was matched against the unbeaten Scottish fighter David Brophy.
Groves who has lost world title fights against Car Froch (twice) and Badou Jack, was far too good for the Scot and the first time he caught Brophy the Scott looked to be troubled by the power Groves possesses.
Therefore, it came as no surprise when Groves got the stoppage his performance deserved in the fourth round when Brophy?s challenge was ended by a succession of jabs and a right to the solar plexus.
In beating Brophy Groves picked up the vacant WBA international belt and after the fight the Hammersmith fighter had this to say,
?Everybody likes to talk about me like I?m a fading fighter but I?m only getting better.?
Here at Vital Boxing we?re quite certain that Groves will get a fourth shot at a world title but it remains to be seen who against.
