After the disappointment of losing a third challenge for a world title, against Badou Jack, George Groves has announced his latest comeback date.
Groves, who put up a gallant performance in both of his super-middleweight fights against Carl Froch, flooring the champion in the first fight, is set to fight at a promotion on 30th January 2016.
The promotion will take place at the Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Park, Hackney, Wick, London.
No opponent has been named yet for Groves and we hope that the Hammersmith fighter is given a couple of fights to rebuild a confidence that looks to have become fragile since being knocked out by Froch, in front of 89,000 at Wembley Stadium, with what could be perceived as the perfect punch.
If Groves can navigate his way through a couple of testing bouts, against reasonable opposition, then there is no reason why the fighter who has a record that reads 21-3 with 16 wins coming by way of the big KO can?t be shepherded towards a fight against someone he has already beaten and who now holds a version of the super-middleweight title, James DeGale after all it would be a stadium filler would it not?
