This morning, the morning after the night before, I imagine that George Groves will wake up a very disappointed man.

One devastating right hand, from Carl Froch, ended his dreams of getting revenge for the controversial stoppage of the first fight.

I?ve no doubt that George will, in his mind, go over the fight in minute detail trying to work out if he could have done anything different, or perhaps whether he should (just like in the first fight) have taken the fight to the champion and tried to replicate that crunching punch that stuck Froch on the seat of his pants in that eventful first round.

But, as they say, hindsight is a wonderful thing and perhaps George will simply look to the future and start that climb back to the summit all over again, a climb that could start with a fight against one of Froch?s former foes Mikkel Kessler.

Last night, following that fateful right hand that saw him out for the count, Groves had this to say at ringside,

?Fair play to Carl. He caught me and I went down. I?ll come back bigger, better and stronger. I feel like I let myself down but congratulations to Carl.?

I?m not sure you let anyone down George, you more than played your part in a night that British Boxing will long remember and we?re sure your time will come.
