It is looking very much as if George Groves will get his third shot at a world title.

After beating Christopher Rebrasse last September, in a WBC super-middleweight eliminator, Groves has been waiting for his chance.

It was assumed that Groves would be fighting Anthony Dirrell, the WBC champion until last weekend. But Dirrell?s poor display and subsequent loss of his title to Badou Jack means that Groves will be fighting the new holder of the bout instead.

Promoted by the Sauerland group, their promoter Kalle Sauerland has announced that he has received a letter from the WBC for negotiations to start between the camps of the two fighters.

It?ll be interesting to see if Sauerland can lure Badou Jack to Europe for the bout or whether Groves will be fighting elsewhere.
