If the master-plan to get George Groves a world title, on the back of those two losses to Carl Froch, involved taking on the WBC champion Sakio Bika, those plans were somewhat derailed on Saturday night.

Stateside action saw Sakio Bika defending his WBC super-middleweight crown against the American challenger, the #6 contender Anthony Dirrell.

The fight went the distance with Dirrell getting the verdict by scores of:-

? 116-111
? 117-110

all in favour of Dirrell.

However, Bika?s hopes of hanging on to his title were hampered by the deduction of a point in round eight courtesy of a low blow being thrown.
