At the weekend, the media carried reports that Carl Froch wasn?t happy with the fact that George Groves and Nathan Cleverley had been sparring with Mikkel Kessler.

Froch believed they were being traitorous in doing so and stated as such. However George Groves, who boxes on the under-card a the O2 Arena in London this Saturday, has hit back at the accusation, remarking in the media,

?I wouldn?t want to betray either of them.?

?I expect my sparring partners to be professional and not talk about what goes on in the gym, and I am the same.?

Adding further credence to his sparring sessions with Kessler, Groves added,

?Carl?s said I had to back up my claims for a world title fight against him.?

?So I went and sparred with the guy who beat him.?

?I sparred with Carl before he fought Kessler the first time. Maybe this time I?ll have softened Kessler up a bit for him.?

?Come fight night I?ll be supporting the British guy and I hope he wins.?

Hopefully, that?s redressed the balance as we begin to contemplate the pair meeting, somewhere down the line.
