The World Boxing Super Series is now starting to get really interesting.
On Saturday night, at the SSE Wembley Arena, George Groves stopped Jamie Cox inside for rounds, the end coming courtesy of a stunning body-shot, to set up a semi-final clash with Chris Eubank Jnr.
It?s a fight the boxing public want to see and we?re anticipating a cracking fight.
However, after beating Jamie Cox at Wembley and with Eubank Jnr sitting ringside, George Groves dismissed Eubank Jnr?s chances of beating him, remarking to the media,
‘He’s improved but hasn’t boxed anyone on my level.
‘If I box like I did against Cox, he doesn’t stand a chance. I boxed tremendously.
‘Eubank is a performer first, a fighter second.
‘He’s always aware of how he’s being perceived. He will relish the big occasion; he was desperate to fight me because he knows it’s a big fight.
‘That pressure isn’t easy to carry; it’ll be great, fun, but not unique to me.’
The big-fight is scheduled for either January or February next year and Chelsea supporting Groves is hoping that it might be staged at his beloved Stamford Bridge.
