After taking, deservedly, the decision over Daniel Jacobs, in their fight at Madison Square Garden, New York City, it appears that Gennady Golovkin wants the one world title belt he currently doesn?t have in his possession, the WBO version.

The WBO version is currently held by Billy Joe Saunders, who earned the belt after beating Andy Lee back in 2015.

Saunders, through one reason or another, has been inactive since winning the belt, but it looks as if his ring return could be happening soon with Golovkin keen on a show-down that would give the thirty-four-year-old the status as the unified middleweight champion of the world.

Talking about facing Saunders, Golovkin is quoted in the media as having remarked,

?Saunders is the last step to my dream to own all the belts. Hopefully this fight will be in Kazakhstan – 100 per cent I would like that next.?

But whilst some fighters might not be too keen on going to Kazakhstan to fight, it doesn?t appear to faze Saunders who has had this to say about taking on the unbeaten multi-belt Golovkin,

?I?ll travel anywhere. I?m not bothered about fighting him in Kazakhstan ? I?ll fight him in a field for all I care.

?He wants the WBO belt and I?m willing to put it on the line. Golovkin is a strong but a boxer always beats a puncher and he?s never faced anyone as tricky as me.?

Fighting talk from Saunders but my money would be on Golovkin winning this one, how about you?
