Gennady Golovkin has a perfect record.

The WBA word champion has a record that reads 33-0 with 30 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

His fearsome punching has already seen Matthew Macklin and Martin Murray succumb to his power.

But Golovkin, some say, is in a division that lacks some serious sparkle and there have even been attempts to move Golovkin up a weight to face the likes of Carl Froch.

But salvation could be just around the corner, there could be a huge fight on the horizon with Golovkin looking to fight the Canadian fighter David Lemieux, who won the IBF middleweight title beating Hassan N?Dam over twelve rounds.

Lemieux is another fighter with a great record with it reading 34-2 with 31 wins coming by way of knockout.

Golovkin is keen for a unification bout and he wants it now, not down the line, but now.

But those plans could be foiled as Lemieux?s team have a mandatory defence to see to first and there is also talk of Lemieux fighting the winner of Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez v Miguel Cotto.

Hopefully, if Golovkin keeps calling out Lemieux he might just put his name to a contract that would give Golovkin the super-fight his remarkable abilities deserve.

We can but hope!
