When Team Eubank decided that Chris Eubank Jnr would pursue the British middleweight title, as opposed to immediately chasing a world title, many were surprised.

But Chris Jnr wanted to win a Lonsdale belt and he did so in that dramatic fight against Nick Blackwell and looks set to chase some quick fights to win the belt out-right.

But Team Eubank do still have serious ambitions for their fighter who is ranked #2 by the WBA and #3 by the WBC.

It appears that talk of facing the undisputed best middleweight on the planet, Gennady Golovkin, isn?t just talk.

Eddie Hearn had confirmed that he is looking to get a fight with Golovkin, who has a record that reads 35-0 with 32 wins coming by knockout, in either September or October of this year.

It seems that Hearn is willing to chase the financially lucrative fight because Team Eubank believes they have a fight-plan to defeat Golovkin.

Whether they?re right and whether the match can be made remains to be seen.
