Yesterday, it was announced that the eagerly awaited re-match between Genady Golovkin and Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez, will happen on 5 May 2018.

The first fight ended in a controversial draw with the judges score-cards having major differences.

One judge had the fight as 118-110 for Alvarez whilst another saw the fight as a 115-113 victory for Golovkin, with the third judge sitting on the fence and deciding it was a 114-114 draw.

Hopefully, this time around, there?ll be no such controversy.

Talking about the fight date announcement, Golovkin remarked to the media,

‘This is the fight the world wants.

‘I didn’t agree with some of the judges’ decisions in the first fight.

‘This time there will be no doubt – I am leaving the ring as the middleweight champion of the world.’

Whereas Alvarez countered with,

‘I’m delighted to once again participate in one of the most important boxing events in history.

‘This second fight is for the benefit and pleasure of all fans who desire to see the best fight the best.

‘This time, Golovkin won’t have any excuses regarding the judges because I’m coming to knock him out.’

Golovkin enters the fight unbeaten in 38 fights, whereas Alvarez?s record reads 49 wins from 52 defeats.

Who is your money on this time around?
