This Boxing lark is a sport that continues to move in mysterious ways and I?m not sure I agree with what?s going on.

Today we learn that the WBA middleweight champion has appointed the fearsome Gennady Golovkin to the rank of its WBA Super World Middleweight Champion, thereby freeing up the version of the title he already held.

This vacant title will be contested on the same Monaco promotion that will see Golovkin fight and presumably defend his new title, with Martin Murray, the #1 WBA contender taking on Jarrod Fletcher.

But, with this new hierarchy established, how can the winner possibly boast that they are a real world champion?

Which leads me on to question just why the WBA have created such a muddled mess?

I?d be interested in your thoughts.
