Golovkin marches on!

In New York, at the legendary Madison Square Garden venue; in the early hours of Sunday morning (UK time), Gennady Golovkin made his latest defence of his WBA middleweight title!

Up against the former IBF / WBA middleweight champion, Daniele Geale, Golovkin was looking to make a real statement of intent as he continues his march towards greatness.

Beforehand Geale, who was beaten by our won Darren Barker, in another world title fight, had spoken about how he could beat a champion who had beaten all placed in front of him.

Unfortunately for Geale, they were words that he couldn?t back up in the ring with Golovkin comprehensively beating the Australian with a third round knockout.

Geale was floored twice in the fight, the first coming in the second round and the second in the third when a right to the head left the challenger flat on his back. To his credit, Geale got back to his feet but with two minutes and forty-four seconds of the round completed, the referee in charge, Mike Ortega, called a halt to proceedings.

Who?ll be next for the demolition machine that Golovkin is fast becoming with his record now standing at 30-0 with 27 by way of knockout.
