Since taking the WBO crown off of Andy Lee, there have been mutterings that the new WBO middleweight champion would be prepared to entertain a unification fight with Gennady Golovkin who holds the IBF / IBO and WBA versions of the middleweight titles.

However, Saunders was honest enough to admit there would have to be a hefty pay-day for the fight to be made. Now whether Saunders was simply calling Golovkin?s bluff or not I?m not sure.

But it now seems that Golovkin?s team are pretty keen to entice Saunders into the ring with it being suggested that Saunders management have received a ?firm? offer from K2 Promotions for a fight between the pair.

Saunders is, apparently, being relaxed about the whole affair and is leaving his management team to decide on his next option.

Saunders, who in taking the WBO title off of Lee took his record to 23-0 with 12 wins coming by way of the big knockout, would be facing a multi-champion who has a record of 34-0 with 31 wins coming by way of knockout.

I know who my money would be on, how about you?
