The night Curtis Woodhouse battled his way to the British title the former footballer promptly announced his retirement.

Curtis was of the opinion that having taken up another career he?d set out what he?d achieved to do and was now set to walk away from the sport.

As it turned out those thoughts didn?t last too long and Curtis was quick to announce that he would carry on.

Today details were announced relating to his next fight, a fight which will see Woodhouse take on the Glasgow light-welterweight, Willie Limond, for the Commonwealth title as well as defending the British belt he currently holds.

The fight will take place at the Braehead Arena, in Glasgow, on 27 June. The fight also provides Limond with the chance to claim a Lonsdale belt outright having twice held the title before.

Talking about the fight Limond had this to say,

‘I am thrilled to be getting the opportunity to fight for the British title again.’

It has all the makings of a cracking fight this one, stick it in your diary.
