With it being announced yesterday that the welterweight hope, Frankie Gavin, had joined up with Matchroom Sports, after his contract with Frank Warren had ended, it hasn?t taken long for his first fight for his new promoter to be arranged.
Gavin will box on the under-card of the March 28th show that will see the ring return of the IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.
No opponent has, as of yet, been announced for Gavin but the fighter has set hi sown targets for his immediate progress through the welterweight division with the fighter remarking,
?I?ll fight for the WBA intercontinental title in March to get my ranking higher with that body, then I?ll fight for the European title in May.?
It remains to be seen if this road leads to a huge domestic showdown with Kell Brook sometime in the future or whether Eddie Hearn has an alternative route plotted out for Frankie Gavin.
