On the under-card of the Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan fight in Sheffield on Saturday night, Frankie Gavin was back in action.

Rebuilding his career after the unexpected loss to Leonard Bundu, back in August 2014, Gavin has recorded wins over Mate Hornyak and Bradley Skeete.

On Saturday night, Gavin was matched against Bogdan Mitic in a ten round bout, with Mitic entering the ring with a record that read 20-6.

In a fight that was more technical than explosive, Gavin took a points decision with the referee, Mark Lyson scoring the fight 100-90 in favour of Gavin.

The win will further boost Gavin?s confidence as he heads towards a showdown with Chris van Heerden, in Birmingham next month.
