As we all prepare to wait for the biggest domestic tear-up so far this year, when the super-bantamweight duo of Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton go head-to-head, it seems their two trainers are not exactly on each-others Christmas card lists.
In the build-up to the fight the verbal insults have been flowing between Joe Gallagher and Shane McGuigan and, with the fight getting closer, Gallagher has had another snipe at McGuigan, remarking,
?He?s famous because of his dad.
?I?ve served my time as an amateur coach and delivered kids from scratch. What?s Shane done from scratch??
Not as much as you I?d suggest Joe but man feel that McGuigan is the new kid on the block with all the correct credentials to make a success of it, there?s also the suggestion that boxing, courtesy of having a world title winning dad, is in his blood.
On Saturday, in Manchester, it could be an event in itself watching the antics of the two as they prepare their fighters for that first bell.
