Last night, in Sheffield, Kid Galahad won the European super-bantamweight title.

Galahad, in his sixteenth professional fight, beat the Spaniard Sergio Prado with a unanimous points decision.

The verdicts or 120-108, 117-111 and 118-110 showed just how convincing a display the Sheffield fighter gave.

Speaking about his performance, Galahad remarked to the ringside reporters, following the conclusion of the bout,

‘I boxed very well. We knew the kid was tough, he came to fight and I give him full credit.’

‘I had him a couple of times but the referee kept on saying I was pushing him down. ?

‘I knew it was going to be a hard fight, every time I caught him he’d come back, and that’s why I trained my hardest.’

With the European belt safely captured there is now talk of pushing Galahad up to the next level as opportunities for a possible world title fight materialize.
