After the original re-match was postponed with Tyson Fury picking up an ankle injury, we hoped that the long-awaited second fight with Wladimir Klitschko would take place on the rearranged date of 29th October.

Sadly we were wrong.

It was announced yesterday that the bout has been called off with the reason being given that Tyson Fury is ?medically unfit?.

The promotional team behind the big-fight that was to have taken place in Manchester gave no further details but stressed that Tyson?s condition is ?too severe to allow him to participate.?

Hennessey Sports, issuing a statement about the bizarre situation, had this to say,

‘Tyson will now immediately undergo the treatment he needs to make a full recovery.

‘We and Tyson wish to express our sincerest apologies to all those concerned with the event and all the boxing fans who had been looking forward to the rematch. Tyson is understandably devastated by the development.

‘We will be making a further statement in due course.’

With this second postponement having been announced and with no inkling of when the fight might go ahead, there is the distinct possibility that Tyson Fury could be stripped of his WBA and WBO belts.
