Tyson Fury and his promoter Mick Hennessey go back a long way.

They are a duo that have stuck together and reaped, last November, the benefits.

Today, the British Boxing Board of Control dealt Tyson Fury a huge blow when they suspended his boxing licence.

For some it might be, after recent events, what they wanted to see, but for others, like Hennessey, it could be seen as the last thing the BBBofC should have done, with Hennessey remarking on the excellent 5-Live programme,

‘Realistically it was to be expected. The board of control need to help Tyson, not put any more problems his way. They should realise what he has achieved and what he has been through. He doesn?t need anyone firing any more arrows his way.

‘He?s been suspended temporarily, obviously he has to prove that he is fit to box. I expect the board and the boxing world to start getting behind Tyson Fury. Since he won the title he has been treated appallingly.’

Tonight, Tyson Fury will be facing his demons, could the British Boxing Board of Control have dealt with things differently?
