As the huge heavyweight clash between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury approaches, there is a wonderful interview with Tyson in the press this morning.
The Mirror?s David Anderson reports on a meeting with the challenger whereby Tyson opens up and talks about his religion and his thoughts on an opponent who has reigned supreme for so long with Tyson remarking,
?The Lord is my rock and salvation.
?Without religion, I couldn?t go on. I?d commit suicide because there would be no point living.
?I?m not the best Christian in the world. I?m a dirty sinner. Maybe I ain?t going to heaven, but it won?t be for the fact I didn?t try.?
And on his opponent in that Dusseldorf ring on November 28th, he added,
?Do I admire him? No
?Am I interested in him? No. He?s just another bare bum in the shower.
?He?s a 40 year-old man, who?s won a few belts and punched a few people in the face.
?He?s nothing special. This supreme athlete is just blood and bone.
?I?m not bothered what people think because I know I am one of the best heavyweights in history.?
?There have been big lumps before, but they can?t box and move. There has been no-one like me.?
There certainly hasn?t and, as the fight draws nearer, Tyson Fury is starting to grow on me.
Fury on Religion and Klitschko!
