Today, with the big fight getting closer by the day, Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko came face-to-face in London at a press conference.
Held at the Hilton Hotel, in Brentford London, it was an unusual press conference to say the least.
With Klitschko sat at the traditional long table with his array of belts stretched out in front of him, Tyson Fury suddenly appeared in a Batman style outfit. With the Ukrainian smiling, the opening bits of the press-conference saw somebody else appear on the scene, dressed as The Joker.
A scuffle then broke out with Fury pinning The Joker to the floor before escorting the intruder off the premises.
Fury then appeared wearing a three-piece suit and the conference got back under-way.
With Sky Sports Adam Smith sat between the two heavyweight fighters and with Eddie Hearn also in attendance, the conference was soon in full swing with Fury once again producing the type of talk that devalues such events, remarking about the champion,
?Do I look as if I’m in awe of him? I don’t think so. I do not respect anyone for their money and achievements. Nor for how they come across.
?I can only respect someone I know well enough. Like I respect Frank Bruno who is a hero of mine and I hope he gets well in time to come to the fight.?
Before adding,
?Don’t do your usual jab, punch and run. Let’s make it a fight. I want to feel pain. I want you to hurt me. I want broken noses and blood and bright lights behind the eyes. To be honest I don’t care if you beat me as long as you do the job properly. If that happens once I get up I’ll give you the biggest hug in the world and there’ll be no excuses from me.?
But later Fury couldn?t help but revert to type further adding,
?You are so boring, you put everyone to sleep. What I’m gonna do is retire you and so the heavyweight divisions can become exciting again.?
That remains to be seen!
So was the press conference interesting or exciting? In a word ? very!
